no worries those two threads are enough. Maybe we should consider limiting the listing of exchanges on getmonero.

btw my approach is that since we have a low bar when adding merchants, we also have a low bar for removing them. Personally, when i receive a complaint about a service listed on getmonero being a scam, i see if the claim is credible enough. If it is, i remove the merchant. That's it. Better safe than sorry, we can also add them again in case.

People typically blame us because the service is listed on the website, even if there is a disclaimer

Yeah but what can we do about it? If we do a deeper vetting and then the service end up being a scam anyway, we are in trouble. To asses the safety of an exchange/service we should do a thorough investigation and i don't think we have the resources for that

We could have higher bar for exchanges tho

since most of the complaints are about them

but even there everything we can do is a background check, not much more.

We can still keep the disclaimer there, just increase the initial vetting process a bit more

Suggestions on how to increase it? We can make deeper background checks, but new exchanges will pass it regardless.
