Inge-
sech1: you saw the nazi-smearing post on reddit too the other day?
-
sech1
probably not
-

I'm really busy with adding AMD Navi support

With a smaller mining pool, you get smaller payouts because smaller pools find less block rewards due to smaller hash rate
-
asymptotically
hmm
-
sech1
Inge- is that why many FUK shills are reddit-wide banned now?
-
sech1
Pick1eMorty AbleTest PrizeEconomy ChilieWillie -TANJIRO- - all banned, maybe there are some more
-
asymptotically
i don't think they get banned for what they post, as annoying as they are i don't think it breaks any rules. probably just for creating sockpuppet accounts and engaging in vote manipulation
-
moneromooo
I really don't get that ban thing. People act like they have a right to spew anywhere they like. It's not like you're banned from everywhere, they can still pew in *their* place.
-
moneromooo
If it was me, I'd deal large helpings of ban.
-

Free speech does not mean obligation to listen.
-
moneromooo
If you like freedom, you'll deal with the freedom of others to drop you from their home.

nothing has changed about the quality of crypto journalism

indeed

tevador
supportxmr and minexmr really need to increase their fees, though
-
Inge-
sech1: it was pretty bad. and combined with what you are talking about here, it seems like there is an ongoing campaign against xmr.
-
hyc
that's nothing new
-
Inge-
probably not
-
Inge-
tevador: so more people move over to other pools?
-
moneromooo
I think I made a patch years ago to have the pool fee start going up if the pool hash rate goes over 40% or so.
-
kinghat
thats... an interesting idea.
-
Inge-
kind of nice - pool operator can help the ecosystem, without taking too much of an economic hit
-
binaryFate
sounds cool we should encourage it
-
moneromooo
-
moneromooo
Not porting it to anything though. Feel free to use.
-
tevador
the fee needs to increase a lot earlier than at 40%
-
kinghat
wonder what the unintended consequences would be 🤷♂️
-
needmonero90
Idea: Scale the pool fee with the percent of the network, so a smaller pool basically always is slightly more profitable than a larger pool
-
needmonero90
the obvious issue is people making a fixed-fee pool, but if it was adhered to by most operators, that would be neat to watch
-

i dont think anything that operates on good faith will stand the test of time. of course there are outliers.
