2) you need the mnemonic seed from the cake wallet, then: monero-wallet-cli --restore-from-seed

You need to be sure your wallet is synced with the network

It won't show your transaction if it's not synced past the block when it was mined

i think that's also the default if --daemon-address is anything other than localhost

even if you don't run with that flag, i don't think the daemon would *record* anything privacy-sensitive unless you're running at some high log level (higher than default)
