maybe bitcoin maxis got exposed to lord of the rings too early, and for some reason the character they identified with the most was Sauron. so they fell for the "one ring to rule them all and in darkness bind them" thingy

even though this particular ring is more likely to bind them in transparency, but one cant have it all.

Might not be the right place to ask, but - Has the Reddit "Fake Monero support" spam ceased? Reddit seems to be clamping down harder on Tor accounts, so I wonder if that wrenched their methods

I'm not sure about ceased, but there is less of it in the past two or three days. The nature of the spammers spamming other subreddits that we don't moderate makes it difficult to know whether it's just being cleaned up, or actually stopped.
